A quick question Jeff. Its sort of invention related.
I had a split relay proffesionaly done for my 85amp hour battery on my Scudo. It's got in line fuses, and they don't do it off the alternator any more. Anyway thats not my question.
I have a cheap charger from netto that I sometimes stick on overnight on the belt and braces principle. My question is should I get a better charger( maybe one that reads the state of my battery) and what sort would be best and where from?
To add to what you said above, you can not patent anything that is in the public domain( don't tell anyone), and also if the idea is so simple as to be obvious.
The cheapo battery chargers are ok for an emergency and thats all, if you leave it on overnight the chances are you are overcharging your battery.
Go to Halfords and buy a fully automatic one, around the £30 mark, you can leave this type on for a week and it will keep your battery topped upto its maximum without overgharging it.
I should have explained my self a little clearer, there are company's out there that will help you with your invention, and if you decide to use one of these company's you have to show them your invention and the registered letter gives you a little more added protection from them pinching your idea.
you are right it should not be in a public domain.
Go to Trevor Balisis web site, he is there to give all would be inventors a helping hand and is a mind of information on inventions and patenting.
