Cat Fleas
« on: June 12, 2007, 09:22:02 am »
Can anyone reccommend something to kill cat fleas in carpet? Have tried an aerosol spray from the hardware shop but it doesn't seem to be working.

Many thanks

Hi Owen

The best products will contain 25% w/w Permethrin, do a search .

Products bought from the vet will be horrendously expensive.

Cheers

Stapro do it in a sachet.

It has pyro.......... in it. Brill stuff only had 1 call back in donkeys years using it and he was a farmer (never happy).

He asked what was in it, so I showed him and he said well I've got loads of that so I said you didnt ask and he asked me to leave saying he'd do it himself!!!!!

Miserable so and so.

When using Permethrin sensible precautions need to be taken. The occupiers need to vacate the property until the solution has dried. Usually 4-6 hours. The operator should wear suitable eye protection and a respirator. It is one of the most effective insect killers and is perfectly safe to use if you follow these simple rules.

Just adding to Johns advice - only mix what you need & dont dispose of down drains or anywhere it can get into watercoarse as it kills all aquatic life & youll get dun.

Smallest practical van for a Prowler would be a Dispatch or Skudo midi type.

Expensive, cheaper are products are available from your carpet cleaning supplier. These types of sprays are no good for carpets. They don't penetrate the pile enough to kill the fleas, larvae and eggs deep down.
