« on: June 11, 2007, 06:33:00 pm »
i have a 14.5 metre fishpole i use for 3rd storey
i absolutely hate using it-light as a feather ok
ass dissembling it is so time consuming
and the hanging tube makes it look so unproffesional and ugly
i always hope nobody is looking

Have a think about changing to a subltle cool pale blue Algarde 6mmOD silicon hose, so soft it wraps around and clings to the pole.

I know how to get round that problem ;)

Jeff might know it too, but will be keeping it quite?

4kg?  ???
It's about the weight of a bog roll tube.
That's why I bought it.

Oh, and I'm Welsh not English.
No need for offensive accusations. ;D

Fishing poles, or rather converted ones and the like ARE the future!

I've used nothing else for months now, even on my shops, it's light. it's fast and the reduced strain on your body is a big reason why ultra lightweight poles and brushes just have to be the future of WFP.
Ok, so I've no doubt it'll veer away from converted fishing poles, perhaps a future version Of Peter Fogwill's new pole or something similar will become the norm, who knows...
I am very fast indeed with the modular pole, and as for the dangling pole hose...
What dangling pole hose??
Even when I've got all 40 odd feet of it connected up it doesn't dangle anywhere.
I'll either wrap & velcro the hose to the pole or I'll twirl the pole and wrap the hose that way.
it's the way I've always worked actually, prior to the Gardiners superlite pole I had an Unger pole, that had the hose on the outside too, do I think it looks unprofessional? nope.

There are ways the fishing pole conversions need to be improved, the joints need to be much tougher for a start, they split and splinter far too easily, but I'm sure such things will be dealt with as each new generation of pole comes along.

And I agree with squeaks...that pole is nothing like 4 kilo's in weight!

Like Ian I changed to fishing pole about three months ago - I'd never go back.

Lighter, more rigid - what more do you want?
It's a game of three halves!

what we need now is a new approach
my criticism hopes to fuel something different
fishpoles are heavenly light
somethings emerging...........
i forsee a light, affordable carbon pole
with no *******dangling,swaying tube,
a light brush with 6 to 8 fine jets (blast  beading glass)
an electronic hip operated flow control not these stupid pressure controllers and with a swivle end for brush

jikwan, they are getting there, slowly but surely, if you look closely, you will see every now and then,
a massive sale of poles, this is because they are moving up the ladder to the next step of  new poles,
and need to move old stock to accomodate for the new versions, these sales take place at least twice a year, if you have not notice these sales are taken place as we speak, i will give it at least 6 years, and fibreglass poles will have no place in the wfp market, it will be glassfibre mixed with carbon, hybrides) or pure carbon, and the superlight will be telescopic
