Cheap Ladders Anyone?
« on: June 05, 2007, 02:03:01 pm »
Just managed to snap my ladder! Gave me 8 years of good service, though.
Can anyone recommend  the best (& cheapest) place for ladders. Or if anyone`s got one to sell, new or secondhand, I`m in Surrey.

Ideally need it to extend to approx. 6mtrs. (or 20ft ish in old money).
Got to be a pointer, never used anything else.

Alex,

I might be interested in the pointer ladder.
Is it still for sale?

Cheers,
Ian

Why the requirement for "cheap"?

You risk your life umpteen times every day on your ladders.  Common sense says they should be the best you can buy.

You sound like my mother. When I say cheap, I mean not expensive, as in getting ripped off. If I was going to buy "cheap", I would be taking a trip to B&Q not putting a thread on here asking for a pointer.
As I said earlier, I`ve had them for 8 years and they`ve had some heavy use in that time, I think they just got weaker over a period of time and when I had to pull them out a bit further than usual, to clear a bay window, I heard a crunch and saw one of the legs with a large crack right the way through it.
