Good morning.

I've checked the specs of some of the best Dysons on the market compared to the Sebo and the Dyson appears to come out on top.  Why then does the CC industry prefer the Sebo.  I can appreciate that the Sebo is a commercial machine and therefore not available on the high street, but is it not better to use the superior machine and gain better results.  I don't have the Sebo specs on me whilst I'm typing, but can the stair cleaning attachment actually reach the top of the stairs whilst the unit is at the bottom?

Your thoughts please.

We could argue over relative performance but aside from that the Sebo is engineered as a commercial machine.

In a recent survey, the Dyson came at the bottom of the list for reliability whereas the Sebo DOMESTIC model came top.

I have six Sebo BS 36's, one over 20yrs old and they all perform reliably well.

I have a dyson commercial at the moment which i'm quite happy with but will get a sebo when work picks up and its starting too yippee as the sebo can be a good talking point with customers showing your professionalizm

Ring texatherm as they have a new vacuum in stock which looks to be more powerful than the Sebo.  It has a 'turbo' which increases power quite a bit.  Handy attachments all on board too.

Ive used it (demo for about 1 min) and liked it alot.  Think the price was around £300 but not sure.

I've dropped my Sebo countless times.  Still works.  How many times can you drop a dyson before that brittle plastic shatters???

Also I've come across countless customers not happy with their vacuums.  Never heard anything but praise for the Sebo's - even the domestic versions.

Morning all, If i were choosing between the machines mentioned presuming the dyson we are talking about is the commercial model, which as more robust and runs a superior motor to the domestic type but still plastiky. And we are talking new prices not ebay, my choice would be the Sebo.
I purchased a commercial Dyson from ebay a few ago months with the intention of using it at home but it impressed me so much i soon had it in the van making my Kirby redundant. It is still going strong despite crashing about in the van and it being bagless means no buying bags.
The science behind the cyclone method of filtering the soil out of the air flow is fantastic and gives supurb suction, especially the newest type which out perform anything else i seen. The reason i would take the Sebo is the proffesional image and less likely to break.
As soon a there is a machine using cyclone technology and built like a sebo we will all want one!!

i think from a customers point of view if you go into her house with dyson or henry in tow, whilst maybe they are good vacuum cleaners, it doesnt portray a professional image, as shes got one of them under the stairs, i think if you have a "different" cleaner to the norm this will help your image from the moment you walk into madams house.
i picked up a filter queen recently and have been using that, super machine but cant get parts for it as gone out of business apparently. unless anyone knows differently. stuart..

have been using the sebo Bs36 for almost a year now and it is the business. I don't think specs beat real life action, any company will up-sell their machine it's real life that speaks the truth.

I do still have my henry for the stairs, wish the sebo could do those?

Didnt realise the Sebo had no means of cleaning stairs. Having to carry another vac to do stairs must be a major inconvenience.

The Sebo can indeed do stairs, with an extension hose and hand tool - even a turbo head.

But then so can any HWE, fitted with a dust-downer.

I use Dyson and have insurance on it for repairs.

However I think that the hand tool suction is poor and use my Henry on Suites.

Has anyone tried a Henry with powerbrush

Paul,

Since your HWE does not have a dust-bag, its' use for dry-vac'ing would normally lead to the dust clogging the turbines of you vacuum units.

However, since the machine is designed to deal with dirty water, a dust-downer sprays water into the vacuum hose, thereby converting the dust into dirty water.

Ashbys will sell you one for about £50, although i'm sure you could probably get one elsewhere, maybe A & M or Woodbridge Commercial,
