Can anyone recommend a good product for the whitening of cotton fringes on
Hearth rugs after cleaning.Mainly for Indian and Chinese rugs? In the past I`ve
Always used Stapro`s `StayWhite` to good effect but as I understand it Stapro
Have sold out to another company.I have also used a product by ProChem but
Found it not too good. All replies thanks in advance.

Hi Guys,
Acetic and citric are both fairly mild acids and should do the trick.
If you are going to use the oxidising bleach way then be careful not to get any on the rug !
Cheers

A recommended mixture of Prochems Oxibrite, Fibre buff and Fibre shampoo always does the trick. Just feather it on with a tampico brush.
We use this solution when cleaning chinese rugs and the fringes always come up a treat.

Craftex degreaser. I rarely use whiteners. This one doesen't have much of a fringe but the results are usually the same.
