I paid £120 for mine. But they did a good job( I think ). I bought something that was £15 to do it myself but it was a bit baffling. I'm glad I went the pro route, the thing I bought was like a toy compared to what the pro put in.

Someone with more knowledge will advise you easy but I think this is another 'toy' to keep your battery alive if you leave it standing.

The thing with this is it has 2 connections a + and a - to your pump battery and the solar panel with trickle charge it through the day and over night no messing under the bonnet

I am no professor when it comes to these things
But I would not think that a SOLAR panel would do much over night ???
It could be a possibility in the sunny months but the rest of the year
I DO NOT THINK SO

in my last car i allways had issues with the battery, it was getting on a bit and the car would sometimes struggle to start ( it was a battery issue ) i would sometimes have to get the jump leads out

i fitted 1 similar to this and never had problems again

BUT

it wouldnt put enough juice back into the battery in the day light to run a pump off it daily

The solar trickle battery chargers are purely for maintaining peak battery level to cars left standing that aren't being used on a daily basis, i.e. left in a garage for a week whilst on holiday, that kind of thing. If you're going to buy a solar panel for topping up your battery for WFP pump use then it needs to be able to recharge your battery at a minimum of 8amps per hour of continuous use so it would have to be a large solar panel and probably a unit to protect it from overcharging as well.

I bought a splitter relay form towsure in Southampton. £11.75. I then took it to a caravan place and they wired it in for me. Basically as long as your normal car/van battery is fully charged then this thing will charge the battery that runs your system and quicker than a trickle charger.  I have not had to remove my battery at all. All Caravans are fitted with them. Its how they get thete charge. Its cheap and parts and fitting cost me £36. Bargain
