Hi Mark

I price all my jobs by the Sq M. I count each stair as 1 Sq M. This covers the extra work involved in cleaning stairs using hand tool etc.

Hope this helps...

thats spooky just been to look at a job, and been pondering this one.

so any advice,

spoke to a friend and they are saying about £1 per step and riser, for water extraction.

the job i'm looking at is 50 flights of 13 steps and then all the landings, and walkways, about 5000sq ft of that.  them there are nosings on the stairs aswell.

these are carpet tiled areas non bitumous, and needs to be done quarterly.

any thoughts

mike, what system are using for £2.50 a step please??

regards

martin

An average flight of stairs has 13 steps x £2.50 equals £32 the landing is about 1m x 2m so about £6 the hallway is 1m X 3m so £9

32+ 6+9 =  £47 about right for a Hall, stair & landing ;)

You weren’t in EC1 today by any chance? Just got back from there measuring up.

Mark

I will go a long with John on this but a bit dearer than me £2 but they can afford it up there. Care should be taken what is normal to us is also normal to certain potential customers landings BAA would be jealous, if you get my drift, this is domestic.

Yes, I have noticed that most flights of stairs have thirteen steps. Why is that?

Houses must be larger up north ;D

The average flight is twelve stairs down my way, but the standard is 10-14 stairs depending on building style.

Average price per standard size stair (domestic) £2-2.50

Martin

Tiled stairs and landings I would clean using Texatherm
