Dropping customers
« on: May 16, 2007, 10:38:20 pm »
Since moving over to a van mount I.ve found a lot of my jobs just dont fit in with how I want to work , parking problems, long hose runs, low priced houses staggered in a street.

In short I want to completely change my workload to stuff more WFP friendly ie larger houses with a minimum price for cleaning, however in some areas I have work that I'm happy to carry on with then round the corner stuff I'd rather get rid of.

Just wondered what some of you have done when moving over from trad, I dont want to do half and half I'm happy polling.

I dont want to just stop turning up at some houses, and those I want to drop I would rather put a note through the letterbox than have them stop me in the street asking where I've been, Any ideas on how to word a note for such would be much appreciated.

Any other window cleaner you can pass the work onto.
Thats what i do when i get rid of work

That way you happy to get rid, the other window cleaner is happy to earn a bit more and the customer is happy as theyare not left without a window cleaner.

Chris just send them all a letter with your new rates as since converting to wfp the costs are alot higher, then put them all up 50% then its down to the customer if they want to cancel and you wont mind cleaning any crap jobs as you will be earning decent money from them.

Thanks Ron.

Hi Borg the work is in worthing and Sompting most of it is underpriced, I made some typical mistakes when starting up, so I'm clearing out the rubbish , also as I have said I want larger jobs, you are more than welcome to a list of work that I have suspended. its value is approx £350 of monthly cleans put the prices right and it could be £500+  a few have been dropped for quite a while now though.

Dear Customer

Unfortunately SAJ Window Cleaners Ltd will be unable to clean your windows anymore due to other commitments. We wish to thank you for your custom over the years.

I have supplied a list of other window cleaners which might be of interest to you.

Hi Arundel is a little to far out of my area, Thanks anyway but I tend to keep fairly close to home due to being a single parent and problems getting to schools quickly,
Arundel seems to be more in Borgs area,
If my work is to far out for Borg your welcome to it you will need to re price it though.

Thanks everyone else for your replies I have some Ideas now for a new leaflet.

Hi.

I dont think this thread is a very good advertisement for wfp,  ;D

I mean, if you are trying to offload normal work because its hard with wfp, what sort of signal does that send out, for the guy with a normal round who is contemplating changing over to wfp?,

gary.

Gary I quite agree but I have invested a lot of money into wfp and I now have to make it pay.
I think anyone with a van mount would agree that you need to go after the larger jobs, unless of course you want to mix trad with wfp which I dont.

Wfp has a lot of potential but its a differant ball game to a guy with ladders over his shoulder.
In my mind there will be a future need for both trad and wfp cleaners as not all houses will suit both options.
