Anybody clean hospitals
« on: May 16, 2007, 07:02:21 am »
Hi All,

Tendering for hospital, just wondering does anybody else do them.

Problem i see is accessing all areas internal, time lost etc. External no probs used to pricing large jobs, but dont want to ---- up on internals.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I do some in Brentwood Essex.  If you can get on with the Facilities Manager then it helps a great deal.  The Nurses on the wards can still be a bit of a pain though.  I aim to do all the wards at times that would be suitable ie not dinner time, preferably when the patients are else where.  Other times you can do the outs or do office windows.  It's incredible the amount of offices on these sites.

I put an extra 25% on for internals on offices.

Simon.

gary we used to do a lot of hospitals here in the US, they are a nice little earner as far as the outsides are concerned
When it comes to the insides they can be very frustrating,
After a few years of doing them and spending more time standing around waiting than actually washing windows we changed our proposal to read
That we would spend X amount of time washing interior windows and would guarentee that at least 90% of the windows would be washed and a complete list of the windows that were not washed would be furnished to the customer and if they wished we would return for 1 day to wash as many of these windows as they would get us access to
That system worked well for us but we did have the benefit of having done them a few times before we put this system in place so the customer knew us and trusted us

Thanks Pat

This is what i,m thinking, but, first impressions they want to help & will organise.

The problem is most windows have not had a clean in last 3 years so bad very bad. The only reason i,m considering is because its going to be 3 cleans per annum & 3 year contract.

Tahks Gary

4 x per annum would be excellent ,b ut i,ll acept 3. Looks to be good contract after initial clean. Did you charge extra on first clean or were they already done.
