It's more than adequate and compares well to speedliner.  It comes now in a non slip top coat which has grit added.  Very easy to get a good finish, but quite messy to apply.  Available in any colour.

The person at renault said it comes factory fitted if wanted.Peter from what you`ve said it`s pretty much the same as speedliner is that right, cos if it is i`m thinking of having it.

It must be good if Renault are offering it for floor protection.  I would definitely recommend it.

Just out of interest how much are they charging for it, or is it in with the price??

They said it was £175 which was why i was interested, what i don`t want to do is say yes i`ll have it please and find out it`s rubbish. You no how much water can get spilled around and i don`t want to get it and find i`m rotting the floor after a year,at the moment i have speedliner but it will be easier to get the van already done.

Surely if Renault are protecting the floor with fibreglass flooring then the floor will be covered with the warranty on the van.  If the floor did rot then they would put it right?

You could pay around £130.00 for Protectacote which is by far inferior to a fiberglass floor.  I imagine the speedliner would be more than double the price of the fibreglass.

I would go for it at that price.

I take it that it is fibreglass matting impregnated with resin.  It might be worth asking just to make sure.

If it is what I am thinking it is you have a resin base coat which impregnates a fibreglass matting, and once dried a non slip top coat is applied.  Well that's what I do anyway, but like I said you would be better asking just to make sure first.

Sorry for wasting your time, it is not what I took it to be.

I wouldn't think a resin coated plywood floor would protect the metal floor as the water would get under the plywood and do the damage.  I would think all the resin would do is protect the plywood.

That`s why i thought i`d ask,i wasn`t sure myself. It would need to be bonded to the floor itself wouldn`t it.

I would think so.  It may be best to phone up and ask them what it involves and if it protects against water, and if not could they recommend something.

I've just ordered an uprated (800kg) Kangoo.

The brochure that I was given showed a 'Plastic Lining Kit' .... "like the wood lining kit, this watertight plastic protects the back of your Kangoo Van.  Easy to fit, it moulds to the shape of the vehicle without any resultant loss of space".

Sounded great, the photo in the brochure showed what looked like a fibreglass finish ... then I found out it was only available for left hand drive vehicles.

Someone made an error putting this in the UK brochure!
