get the hightest psi u can get  with lots heat, anyone who has been cleaning carpets for years will tell u higher pressure and high heat  will giv u better results and a lot quicker cleaning, other wise people wouldnt buy a truck mount would they ?  sure thier not just buying them for extra suck alone  ;)

I use my 400 psi Ninja at max pressure on most carpets, but I always open up the flow control to reduce flow rate and pressure for upholstery. Have a v2 steamate too which I leave at 110 deg C for most jobs. I work with the right wand technique (do the couple of drying passes mentioned) and used a bit of common sense and have had nothing but top banana results. The extra pressure and temp is a good combo.

Hi Ian,

Yes I always do at least one dry pass back over the strip thats just been cleaned before lifting the wand across for the next strip as I'm sure everyone does.

If the carpet is a deeper pile and i have turned up the pressure to penetrate further down i will give a couple more dry passes to ensure as much moisture is recovered as possible.

All the best,
Jason.

What I was trying to ask is are you having to do extra  dry passes at 400
psi compared with a say 135psi
