Cleaned in the rain slip
« on: May 15, 2007, 09:20:35 am »
I've got my payment details slip for putting through for people to pay online or send cheque, I've got my basic cleaned today while you were out for the people who are cash only.

Now I need a slip that says cleaning in the rain leaves just as good a result, any suggestions?

I'm with you on this one ronaldo, we are so accurate with our washing/rinsing with WFP, but with rain beating down its just going everywhere. You wouldnt start spraying brickwork/canopies/lead flashings etc with pure water and expect a decent job would you.

Why?? all this does is leave you open to customers now checking to see if what you have told them is right! Just clean and if and when they say anything then answer them face to face.

Why create a possible conflict?

Just specifyin your customer written confrimation when you take on customers that you work in all weather conditions unless extreme. Never had a groan about a bad clean in rain, but if there is any come back from customers, then you can just refer them to the confirmation!

So, I quote for a job, and I'm successful, and then I give them something that tells them about me. A sort of friendly terms and conditions sheet.

You are now a valued customer of vgs we strive to be reliable ect
How we work
contact phone web etc
Payment options

Yes this is probably better. As you say why cause conflict or ask for inspections. If I have missed anything tell me or anyone has one to show.

When you get a new customer tell them that to maintain a regular and reliable  service you clean in all weathers . Then they have the choice to say no thank you . Just keep it simple , when you have cleaned there windows  put your slip through there door.Cleaned your windows today , payment is now due

Hi, Can't see where you're based but here in Essex the rain tends to be filthy after a long (1 week +)dry spell. The longer the dry spell the dirtier the first lot of rain that arrives,  However, if we get a good day or two of fairly heavy rain it washes all the muck out the atmosphere. then if we get some rain every few days it tends to stay quite clean.

That said, we have to earn a living and you could just as easily have cleaned the windows the day b4 in the sun and got rain the nxt day and they get dirtied up. That though, would have been on top of the previous month's dirt if you hadn't cleaned them.

Personally I wouldn't advertise that you always do as good a job in the rain because there's going to be times when your good job is somewhat spoiled right away and because they're expecting sparkling windows they'll pick you up on it.

However, that said I wouldn't let that stop me working in the rain if I needed to. Just deal with questions as they arrise. Reasonable customers understand and will stick with you. Unreasonable won't. But I wouldn't want them anyway. They're usually the troublesome ones
