Well not really, I suppose it's good really. 
Because of using wfp I'm right up to date for the first time in ages.
Trouble is, 4 weeks ago this week I had weds, thurs and fri off with the old van breaking down.

That means if I whip through it all tomorrow I've got nothing even due until monday.
I really want a good week too, as I'm on holiday next week.

I had to start an hour late today due to a school run, but I still did £25 more than I'd usually do on this day.
And it was first cleans!

Add the extra hour and less first-clean scrubbing, and next month I should really coin it. 

Sorry to do a wfp rave, but that's what people wanted to hear from me isn't it?
Meanwhile...

What's the best way to get some quick work?
Doorknocking I suppose? 
Haven't done it for years. I hate it.

PPS.  I'd bite-the-bullet and clean early; just to compact your work and if anyone complains, just explain that it was because you were really late last month and overall, it'll work out the same.

Work is so easy to get when you get wfp get on the 3 storey high work if there is any new sites near you, i have got work coming out my ears

I have only picked up 3 accounts in the last month and a half of wfp.
2 of those wanted every other month, so that's annoying.

The amount I've lost?
Due to cancellations and ones I can't get into the drive or the windows leak, so I've had to drop...

Im glad its working out for you. When I first started I hit a real bad patch before it levelled out so be warned it might happen yet. Best thing to do is compact your round if you can and then try to get a whole day clear to go canvassing on that posh estate for new customers at top money prices. Start the way you mean to carry on.

Glad it's working for you. Tosh is right, plus explain that you are on holiday.

When you get back get your van signed, that will generate new work, and start talking it up to the customers. As you know a lot of it's referal, if you are telling them you've only switched because of xyz they are not going to recommend. Your new system and new business is great, start believing it.

A signwritten van is an excellent way of advertising your business i get people phoning me up from all over, if i dont do that area i just pass it on to the local window cleaners.
I have also picked a comercial job up if you just turn up in a van without any name on it people just think you are a builder or a council worker.

About the signing Squeaks. You can think about it without parting with any money. I know you have quirky ideas and want to come up with something special.

Phone a local company up- I used signs express a local franchise- they will give you an email address to send your ideas too. You can do this in word but I used publisher. You can make suggestions about colours ect telephone logos water drops or whatever.

They will email you a sort of (Is it a vivaro) template with the four elevations of your van and how they interprete what you have given them. They will say something like this will cost you - about £200+vat-
if you want us to do it. If you require any changes please let us know.

What I'm suggesting, even if you haven't got the money handy start working on this. Do a workmanlike job to start with and very probably inspiration will strike.

Quick hands I guess.
I was quick using a squeegee, and now I'm quick with a pole.
Fairly high flow helps too.

Concentrate on the top edge and give it a good rinse.
No probs lately.

Left a quite a few iffy windows in the first week or two, but I get it pretty right first time now.

To answer the other question, I probably am taking nearly half as long again on first cleans as second or third cleans, but it's still not much different to going up and down a ladder.
Some things I'm much quicker on, others not.

I'm not getting so tired too, so I'm taking less breaks.

The reason I've lost a few is because my round consists mainly of old bags.

When you have finished doing your customer house, before you leave quickly knock on the neigbours house and tell them you have just cleaned thier neighbour and wondered if you needed a window cleaner. I used to do this and it worked a treat!

If your not comfortable door knockling (and there are lots who are not) try leaflet dropping the estate you are already in. 

We do this every 6  months or so and always pick up the extra one or two.  Over the month you could get yourself an extra days work without much effort.

Are there any local w/c selling off some work ?

Park your sign writen van right in front of Tesco and make sure you are sat in it looking friendly     Put a few leaflets on your windscreen when your shopping.

You need permission from your local council to leave leaflets in town centre car parks (on shoppers cars) but if you did it one Saturday you could plead ignorance and say sorry 

Contact a local glass repair company and offer to give out their card to any of your customers who have blown glass panels in return for them giving out your leaflet to any new installation or repair jobs.

Get in with the sales person at any new home  developments and ask if you can leave some leaflets for their welcome pack.

Hope thats given you enough ideas    They may not all be applicable but you did ask
