John,
You taken the training, thats the best start in this business, experience comes with time, you can't and will not have expected to buy that.

Now with your training start putting into practice. At least with time, you will have experience and training under your belt. Thats puts you in a better postion than most cc's out there. Those that think experience is all you need, but are making the same mistakes over and over again.

John you state-"weeks of spending time with some of the more experienced guys on this forum". Have you been on-site with "some" of them then?

John,

As other have said, go in there and do a good job! It's always worrying when doing your first suite for a customer..you'll obviously be worried about what *could* (But almost certainly won't) go wrong.

Get some advice on the type of fabric from this forum beforehand, take your time and you'll do a good job!

Do a good job and you'll get recommendations and the business will start to flow.

I`ve met John who had the decency to let me use his pressure washing rig on a job a customer of mine wanted doing...he had never met me but was willing to let me drive away with over £2k worth of kit... ;)

He has the most fantatic attitude towards carpet cleaning, a superb TM set up, signwriting, advertising...he has spent hours upon hours walking the streets posting his leaflets and has spent several days with others from the forums to gain hands on experience.

I can assure you he is a credit to your profession and if you take him on board for a day, you will have exactly the same impression as me and wish him every success.

Hi Guys

The whole pH vs resoiling issue is one where there is lots of talk but not much evidence.

I believe how much chemical you leave in the substrate is far more important, this is effected by how much you put in and how well you rinse.

Cheers

Doug
