Does anybody use just pure water an applicator and a squeegee downstairs when wfp ing upstairs?

Reason being sometimes i get fed up of the water still dripping on windows below as im doing them, when i use fairy obviously if it runs down the window it brings the fairy with it and when it dries sometimes leaves a mark.

well yesterday used only pure water didnt scrim and ..... perfect, even when water from above ran over the top part of frame! I went back a short while after to check.

Any comments?

If you WFP the tops why not WFP the bottoms as well?

well, i trad downstairs and wfp up. Was just wondering if anybody had tried this who trads downstairs?

It would drive me mad doing that,if the pole comes out it stays out for that particular house up and down i don`t see the point.

It leaves little detailing to do, and looks fine, but it doesn't slip well enough without fairy.

I only had pure water in my bucket the other day, and it drove me up the wall.
You just can't go fast.

Had to ask a customer for a quick squirt.

i would use some gg4 if your just blading,

also if you put some pure water into a spray bottle and sprayed leaded with it and wiped of with microfibre i bet it would come up tops

works well with ordinary water and a bit of gg4 in the bottle must be better with pure

i do, a little GG3 in the water and its great

GG3 for soft water ( which it is )
GG4 for hard water

I am looking at eventually wfping down but would be good for entrances to houses and some windows ie front rooms where some customers prefer to see dry windows, (more for winter)

yep i do only till i get a van and i use pure with gg4 for down i have no probs
i only do 1 house wfp all windows its lead it takes 15 mins if i done all the house this way i would have no water left so have 2 wait till get van.

 do i not trust the pure water where the customer sits looking out of her lounge window?....
 to hell with it, of course i trust it.... i do the lot with wfp now

its a doddle and takes much less time.

We always run as 2 man operations, generally I have one person doing upstairs wfp and the other does downstairs trad and also collects the money or leaves a ticket and helps with the hoses.

It works very well and it means that our water lasts right through the day, it is also as quick if not quicker than doing it all with a pole.

We have always considered wfp to be a H & S tool and not as a full replacement for trad window cleaning.

Im still unsure as to whether i should go downstairs wfp.

I do everything WFP. It is quicker for me as I can't reach the top of the downstair's windows and need to use a step ladder.  For me total WFP is the only way and I don't have any complaints now about the lounge windows being left to dry. All my customers know the new system.
I also do dry the front door down as well except when I know that there is no one in.

I use wfp downstairs but in the winter/windy dusty conditions I sometimes use the brush to scrub the doors/patio doors without rinsing off and then whip out a blade to remove the water. (You have to go straight across or down as there is "no slip". No need to detail either.)

Saves a bit of water and any blown about dust won't stick to the drying droplets.

we work in very similar ways to lionheart, 2 man operation wfp ups trad downs, if organised and trained well it works really well. No-one is sat around doing nothing and getting paid for it, the operatives swop frequently, relieves strains and tiredness,which again is all part of H & S. Most of our domestic customers like to see dry downstairs windows. On the other side the occassional properties that we do use wfp on fully, 90% requested to extend their terms as wfp was leaving them cleaner longer! You can't argue with that either as it does! As for water issues, working this way does save water, but how much? still IF it ever came to it and people were queueing at stand pipes we would all be short of water anyway!
