Right, I've seen a few posts on here about training and the like, and I'm thinking its the right thing to do.

I've been window cleaning for years now, but I think its time to "GO UP A GEAR" in a business kind of a way.  I just kind of taught myself how to do it, (with a bit of help from a mate).  I use wfp, somebody I know builds (or used to build) systems, and the one I've got now is good but not its really big enough, though it has served me well.  Also the van its in is on the last legs, so if I'm gonna take it all a bit more seriously I'll probly get sorted out with a new(er) van and some kind of bigger system.

So, anyway, what is this BWCA course, and is it the same thing as the wfp training academy (think I saw a link t that somewhere).  I like the idea of having some proper knowledge and stuff, and few "qualifications" (if you can call them that) might come in handy to wave under the nose of the odd pub landlord or nursing home matron etc ...

What do you guys think???

I think the federation of master window cleaners do courses for wfp, the training academy is another forum but with video's and photo's along with other wfp topics

There is a page about courses with the mysterious bwca on the federation window cleaners's website, but I'd guess you need to be a member to get on them (which I'm not)

As I say I'm not 100% sure but I think there are a few companys that do wfp training courses and you don't need to be a member.
Maybe tomorrow someone can answer your question better than I can.
As I say not sure, but I think Andrew MaCann of pure freedom will give you a day out with his own guy's and they will teach you the ropes so to speak. give him a call he's a nice guy to speak to. 01472 347519

I have prospectus. They do a one day course..£95 + vat. It covers all you need to know but most of it you may be convercent with already. Cert provided on finish of course.
They have other courses all of which go to an NVQ.
Some look interesting.

I can't say too much just yet as we are still in the final throw's of confirming dates etc but The Association Of Professional Window Cleaners is just about to launch a full 6 module training course that will cover everything you need from basic cleaning up to Cradle and rope access.

The beauty of this is that you can pick which modules you need and attend what you feel will be the most benefit.

This is being held and conducted by a certified H&S company that is experienced withing the Cleaning Industry. It is not sponsored by ANY manufacturer and completely independant.

Like I said, dates will be announced shortly but it will be sooner rather than later!

Yes the course is recognised and certified by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

The courses we are looking into will be publicised very soon.

If you want a particular course let us know, if we can generate enough interest we will try to organise one for you.

I would be interested in  these course for myself & staff. Any more info would be appreciated. We have done bwca, iosh through fed & also management h&s through outside h&s company. But feel this is the path for commercial & would be looking for moe courses as looking to apply for chas asap.

Rob, thanks for the info, now I have seen the bwca website I know what I'm looking at!  I like the sound of the waterfed pole and marketing courses.  Only going to do one for starters though.
