Trialed Altec Ultimate master this week. Impressed with results,but I have used it as a pre spray with agitation and a fresh water rinse . Good results along the lines of Blitz, with a lower ph and less chem.
Next week I an going to do the same and try Formula 90.

Hi Paul,

We have tried similar tests with Prochems variant of Ultimate master.  It did work, but not as good as the designed "presprays".

I think the difference is that the self neutralisers are without a wet solvent component.

That said, using a solvent booster (prochems is Citra boost) would probably rectify this and also add a nice "organic" fragrence.

Used a sample of Hydramaster Soil Break on a really badly trashed pub carpet on Wednesday, came up brilliant with very little effort.

Or maybe that was down to my trusty Exel and Scrubba!!!!

Whatever reason they were suitably impressed and I now have it on a 6 monthly contract.

At this moment in time Ultimate Master and Blitz are my favourite products, on the whole I also prefer to pre-spray first using seperate sprayers for each, then machine water extacting rinse, always get good results.
Just received some more blitz from Hydramaster along with some other samples of other products, looking forward to trying out.

I tried ultimate master years ago and was put off by the max temp which was low .Is this still the case? I prefer blitz on trashed carpets , cuts through grease a treat.Wack up the temp!

Um stops working at 55f. or that used to be the case. Found it was not as fine powder as when it first came out and did not disolve well, so stopped using it 3 years back.

Has it now back to it former self? and can it now be used over 55f?

UM is great, been using it for years. It does scum up if you mix it with very hot water, so mix it with warm to hot water. As I understand it, if it is used above the reccommended temp the enzyme is killed off, and so loses the effect of that additive. However I use much hotter than that through my TM and always get brilliant results. Since I used it my clients tell me that the carpets stay clean longer than ever before. That may not seem a good point as far as jobs are concerned but, the refferals definatly go up, so that makes up for the longer gaps between repeat work.

I always found ultimate master to be a very good powder and I used it for years. However I tried experimenting with microsplitters and spitfire and now use them most of the time. What I have discovered since changing to mostly plain water rinsing is that pumps juist keep going on an on, hoses never burst and rubber seals last an last for ever. I am not blaming ultimate master for this but it is too much of a co incidence. I cannot see myself going back to powder in a big way again, but my question is this, Can anyone recommend a good liquid alternative to powder as sometimes you do need an extra boost in the tank.

There is an Ultimate Master liquid.  I think it is designed for truck mounts but MAY be able to be used for portables too.  Ask Steve or Chris.  Best, Dave.

5litre bottle of UM about £10.00 dilutes 100-1 for portables.

UM liquid doesnt smell anything like the powder and I think it does not self-netralise like the powder does. Have used in a portable a few times, but dont think as good as the powder IMO.

I too have used Ultimate master for many years and is an exellent chemical although it does eat brass Jets
