The boiling DoDa in the corner of the kitchen was refered to in Gods Country as The Set Pot!!

I remember once my mother got her fingers in the mangle and it spilt them open.

Oh Derek, as the saying goes "The Good Old Days"!!!, these ere yunguns on here dont know what a good life they have :o :o :o

Thank you for reminding me of the good times...still sadly missed...keep a tight check on the chrono!

John

The good old days eh... in a lot of ways you are right... we left doors open...No burglars came in to steal... people were more friendly and not 'in your face' as the modern day saying goes

People didn't seem to be so stressed out either...in fact had stress been invented?

One has to remember she comes from rural Kent straw out the mouth. By the way Wife’s reply what’s a launderette she had to use the local quagy (river plus stone) I think OMO or as like just come on the market.

John I’m into nostalgia but not in front of the misses’ reminds me of a person called spend-spend Viv  ;D

Derek,

Not tears of nostalgia tears of mirth.

One Monday (everyone washed on Monday) when I was about four, there was a terrible wailing from the wash-house of next-door-but-one.

Mrs Pickles, her ample but saggy figure draped in a floral pinafore, with knotted headscarf atop, had been putting her sheets energetically through the mangle.

First 'pinny' then right breast entered between the rollers. Once my mother realised what had occurred, I was dragged back home, but I remember the fire brigade turning up and as I watched from our garden, I saw firemen coming out of the washouse, hands over mouths, trying to silence their laughter, returning to the rescue only when they could keep a strait face.

I was hoping to go to Carpex have applied but awaiting badge.

Form did not make it easy to take Mrs G.

However I am not an ideal visitor as I will not be spending 300k

More like £100.

However I do have a plan for World Domination

Dennis,

You can register an interest in the seminars, but this does not reserve you a place - It will be simply a matter of queueing  up on the day - too far back in the queue and you don't get in.  :(

John.

As I understand it all those registering will be allocated a space....if the seminar is fully booked you won't get in if you haven't pre-booked.... first in the queue or not.

looked at the site and it says that booking dosent automatically get you a place its just for the numbers, to avoiddissapointmnet arrive at rooms 15mins early

so there could be schoolboy pushing in the queue
