rob the topics that where considered during the assessment are as follows

policy statement

 h s responsibilities
communications with employees
health and safety training
procedures/method statements

addition subjects that I hope to put in place because of building sites as follows

buried services

and there is more to learn, this may not affect us directly, but if you are working in that environment the more you know the better it is when dealing with clients

safe contractor you join and they help you all the way to educate you and ,correct procedures of health and safety,
the more you know the more you give the client confidence in you

i hope this has helped you to determine if it is worth joining

You don't always have to go that in-depth, it depends on what work you will be doing. DON'T BE DAUNTED BY IT! If you aren't sure, ring them and they will help. OR ask on here where to get things. eg. policy statements can be downloaded from the HSE site.
