All my new toy's arrived today (they were ordered yesterday morning.)
my first delivery was my booster pump and my filters, so I immedietly set to work changing my filters, then I took a look at the instructions for installing the booster pump, they looked to easy, so I had to phone my supplier (purefreedom) just to confirm I was correct. Andrew was on the other phone so he was unable to take my call But within 10 minutes he phoned me back and confirmed my findings, finished the call and there was a knock on the door, my second delivery had just arrived this was my 34' X-Tel carbon/glass pole and my brush.
I installed my filters and booster pump and switched everything on, and WOW! what a difference, my pressure shot up from 35psi to 75psi, I let it run for half an hour, without it going through my resin, the very first reading I took was 012 tds and after half an hour took my second reading, the tds had dropped to 004 tds, so I connected it to my resin vessel and took the 3rd reading, 000tds hooray I emptyed away 210 ltrs of water with a reading of 004 tds, the reason I did this was, I wanted 000 tds readings and I also wanted to time the fill time, this started at 1.00pm this afternoon.
I now turned my attention to my pole, after a short wrestling match with the packaging, I eventually won and beat the bl**dy 2'' staples
Got the pole out and began to inspect it, my very first impression was the thing felt about the same weight as my 24' fiber glass one but then I realised, this pole is almost twice the lenght of my 24 footer and the sections are shorter than my 24 footer, so this means I can now store my 34 footer inside my trailer, unlike the 24 footer that has to be strapped on the out side.
Right out into the bl**dy garden and lets give this pole the once up in the air routine, I stood in the middle of the garden and began to raise the sections one by one, the new clamp design is excellent, and with a little practice, you can operate them with your thumb and thats open and closing them, I didn't think It was going to end, section after section came out, all seven of them,
now, I'm stood in the garden with 34' of pole stuck up in the air and the pole resting on the ground, OK! here we go, I liffted the pole up and nearly poked the eye out of a helicopter test pilot passing overhead
I couldn't test its flexability as I didn't want to stay out to long as it was now raining but on quick inspection it seemed an excellent pole and can't wait to use it.
I decided I wanted to change the vikan brush and put my Gaz's Swivel brush onto it, but before I did, Andrew had sent me some spare 2mm jets and a Y piece, I took off the old Jets that gaz fits and installed some nice new brass ones and some nice new plastice tubing, my new pole now looks like the corgies conkers, Next week when I go back to work, I will let you know my findings on the pole in use.
