RO SYSTEM IN THE VAN
« on: May 10, 2007, 09:19:14 am »
Hi again..

I know most put the ro systems in the garage, as you will always need a back up container if you run out....

but if i put it in the van i can fill my van tank... and if i need to fill a tank in the garage for back up, i could simply pump it into it using the shurflo 100 psi which will be used for pole,  is that what you do?

i just think it saves buying a pump from garage tank to van tank.

Gary.

If the Shurfo pump  you are talking about is the one that supplies water to your brush, then it will take all day to transfer water across as the flow rate is 4/6 litres per minute

I have my ro in my van and what I have done is fill my 1000ibc tank in my shed incase I run out. I just fill my van tank over night every night if I run out I pump it from my shed with a submersible pump.
When I my ibc gets low I just run the pure out pipe through my garden into my shed.

well thats 360 litres in one hour so not too bad... apart from draining the battery lol]

Cleantech supplied me with all the valves/15m hose/sub pump etc a few months ago for about £70... don't mess about, go for it ;)

Thanks for the help once again,

how many people have ro in the van ... or is it the garage or shed that is more favourable?

Cheers.

Gary.

In the van is a very simple contained set-up, but it does rely on good water supply whilst out and about if you plan on topping up as you go.

We have always favoured a static set-up which can easily supply up to 3 vehicles from one system. Having said that some of our workers also have an 'on board' RO (Merlin) for fast topping up if they need it.

The static system is simpler to run and always gives you the ability to have a reserve, but van set-up does allow for a less space-consuming option.

In an ideal world I would have both, but realistically I know that the 'On board' set-up would virtually never get used, nice to have it there if you really needed it though.

It will produce anywhere between 75-225 litres per hour.

This is very dependant on water pressure, one of our workers plugs his in on one of our contracts, they have about 110psi mains pressure and it will fill a 250 litre tank in about 105 minutes with him working from it.
