just seen this on Ebay...do you think those turnover/profit figures are right...
based on 50 weeks working at 18 hours a week...that is about £8.00 an hour profit... ???

From what I can gather there are people calling themselves "Homeclean" all over the place all with different logos.

Note; 1200+ customers will mean he's done work for 1200 customers over the years, repeating customers (the important figure) will be more like 15-25, having done 1200 jobs total.

Turnovers pretty poor, but shockingly good compared to most carpet cleaners out there.

A supplier once posted some stats on c/c'ers profile, well over half had poor credit record.

They appear to have three Yellow Page Ads could be where profit has gone.

i would of thought 50% of turnover as profit would be normal, but 28% is stretching it a bit isn't it?

think i would pack it in for that, unless it's just for the paperwork ;)

This week we looked at the sponsered listing on YELL ( the one that stays at the top) £2700 per year, turns out a one man band with a answerphone in a very dodgy area has got it, he's going to do a lot of wok to pay those people or go mamaries up! trying to pay the bill! he will have signed for a 12 month contract

rember turnover is sanity profit is vanity ( or is it the other way around?)  ;)

and for that reason I'm out!

It's worth mentioning that the cam belt snapped on my Escort van last month at 109K, even though I'd had it done at 60K

It implies in the listing that this was a part time business. It's possible that the hourly profit was much higher, depending on how long the business operated.

so he turned over £26525 and his profit was only £7507 is that normal? sounds sxxt to me so he has made £7500 after 7+ years is this normal for carpet cleaners if so how do you afford to live?
