Sorry for all the different posts from me lately. 

What is the length of microbore most of you use from the van.... is it 50 metres or 100,

will 50 do most houses....... and will a 40  or 60 psi do for 50 metres of microbore ?

or will  i have to get the 100 psi..... if so ..

Can anyone tell me the best place and prices for the pump .....( does it have to be shurflo or flojet?)./...... and microbore.

Just got into Microbore myself after 3yrs of "trolly-ing".

I bought 100mtr from www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk and put 60mtrs on a reel for everyday use and put the other 40 on another reel "just in case". I've been round all my work which includes streets with detactched houses and large mansions and not yet needed the 40m.

Regarding the pump, mine is a Sureflo 60psi which seems to be perfectly adequate for the job. I did need to invest in a Varistream tho to deal with regulating the flow as the pressure switch burnt out after a month.

Mike at Cleantech advised that I may have problems with Microbore with 6mm inside diameter and that 8mm i/d Minibore would be better, but, so far, no problems.

Sorry, I'll try again. I have 6mm and like spoonbill use about 50m on the reel and then have an extension reel with more hose if I need it. I have push fit connectors and its all very smart but its hardly ever been used.

I have a 100psi pump but the variflow cuts in way before it gets up to that pressure. I run my pump at about a quarter of the max setting on the variflow and thats about right for ordinary work. The only time I crank it up a bit is to blow through air locks.

I have a theory which I would be interested to know other peoples views on. I didn't buy 100psi pump for any good reason. I was just starting up and thats what I ordered, but that pump is still going strong after 15 months. Other people  have gone through several pumps over that sort of time. Does a 100 psi pump last longer than a 60psi because it isn't working so hard?

I have the flo-jet 100 and still going strong after more than 3 yrs, sometimes working with two operators and used 3-4 times per week, roughly 12 hrs in total per week.
I use the bypass system.

I have 3x 60 psi flojet pumps and two are 3 years old and 1 is 2 years old.

The only problem i have had is one pump cracked when it froze in the winter apart from that i think the flojet 60 psi pumps are excellent.

I use 100 mtrs of minibore and get no problems.
Don't use a varistream i did do but didn't like it so took it back off and sold it on ebay.

When i do renew the pumps i will be getting 100psi flojets.
Then i will get better flow with microbore.
The reason i will be buying flojet pumps are i know another window cleaner near me who has got through two 100psi sureflow pumps in a year.
So i would rather pay more money and get a more reliable pump

I have two 60 psi Flowjet pumps and 2 reels of 100 mtr M/bore hose. The pumps have not worn out yet after 17 months of very heavy use. I dont use a variestream.
