Go on then Paul how much per hour for a Prowler to run?

My TM about £2.50- 3 an hour.

I'll know if Steve is fibbing to me when I hear your answer.

Anyone out there running a TM for 60p/hr? ;D

No, but while your still at the customers house emptying/filling your machine and probably just about making your way down the stairs I'm either at my next job or at home watching the Snooker! :P :P

Fair point Phil, but I got the missus to set up while I chat to custy, empty for me when I stop for a cuppa - who wants to work non stop?, and I dont need to fill ( the beauty of autofil!). Bet me and the missus can set the Ninja running just as quick as you can your TM! If you're ever in Norfolk I'll race you!
And the custy pays the leccy bill, not me!

Just curious local guy to me has one and he told me his bane is more powerful than the prowler today::) He reckons it cost customer 20p for the two hours he was than in electricity which I thought was a bit of a porky

just check a average price is 10p per kWh
One unit is 1 kilowatt (1000watts) of electricity used for one hour (kWh).

so work on his statement 20p for 2 hours means his machine has a power rating of 1000W ( thats less than a spotting machine) and 3 times less than my kettle

"madam use me my machine is less powerfull than your kettle!" theres a good market line ;)

I'v include the power graph for your machine  which at optimum revs and 11hp ( less than enggine maximum which is 13) , produces 8.25kW thats 8250watts, i think he might be interested to know that !

out of interest domestic socket are rated ofr use with a 13 plug so now of the science bit

13a X 240 volts gives you a maximim of 3120watts available ( spining motor creat a current draw so thats a theroritical maximum) so you still have more than twice the power of any electric machine (that does'nt need it own generator, which would be pointless more thing to go wrong)

on a slow week a gallon a day £5 but on a busy day can be up to £10

An extreme 1500sq meter job running full moo without a break and fed directly from water supply approx  12-14  hrs  the petrol works out about £15-£20 nearly a whole jerry can, The other TM i had (310) on  same job took 2-4 hours longer and used 8-10 galons and always chewed up a pump out impeller ( £75) so am happy with the costs

you can buy a gas conversion for 130 form edge and run it on gas and or petrol, if you really want to get the cost down don't know anyone who done it yet because it would take a good while to recoup the costs. But with the expected rises I might give it a go just to see whats it like.
