hi all,

Went to look at a job today, cement spots on a tarmac drive from messy roofers. the drives not in top condition and the cement is really well set into it in blobs.

dont fancy the job as dont think the customer will
A. be happy with the results
B. want to pay for the removal of some small spots

and i just think it will be aggrivation from the start.

any one done this succesfully b4?

my second thought for a bit of therapy, was what jobs have you not wanted to do, or regretted doing?

1600 square metre of plastic walls and ceiling in an empty room that had to be done by hand because they where adamant no water at all could touch the floor.

Looked like "Arnie" after a fortnight, but it paid well.

Without actually seeing it, and depending on severity of damage and condition of tarmac drive, I would advise the customer to have it resurfaced!

You could try to chip-away one or two blobs of the cement with bolster! but i fear that the tarmac being the softer substrate will come away as well!

You can`t really use acids or heat to clean tarmac, but you can layer a covering bitumen if its not too uneven!

You can use acid on the cement . I use clover acid wash. I did a local grammar school after they had the building rendered. apply by watering can (plastic ) and allow to dwell 15 - 20 mins then jet wash off. If you don't believe me try it out on the road
