Steve, have you lifted the carpet to clean the backing?  Also maybe replace the underlay if that had oil in too?

Was the oil hot?

Most oil stains will come out, eventually.  May take quite a few visits but it should come out.

Best, Dave.

Yes cleaned backing, underlay seemed fine and no the oil was straight out of a bottle.

Hopefully finally sorted it yesterday but just in case wanted to be armed with the right chems if it does come back.

Steve had one this week in  church hall froma broken oil radiator.
It was a low pofile nylon carpet that was stuck down.It was full of oil.
I put in 2 litres of ultra pac ren and left for 20 mins give it a good aggitate then exctracted
It removed most but there was still some in and quite bad staining.
I then did heat transfer using towel, steam iron and 500ml of eco spotter.
The heat transfer brought out all staining and pulled up more of the oil.
The above process was repeated
Result all oil out.
Took 1 1/2 hours to do and quite a  bit of chem so charge accordingly. ;)
