Home made pole carriers!
« on: April 10, 2007, 12:46:23 pm »
I am looking at getting an external pole carrier to attach to my van roof-bars(new shape combo) for transporting my longer poles, has anyone adapted plastic tubeing for this purpose as the ready made metal variety are a bit on the pricey side
Any pics or advice would be great.

Hi Matt,

Soil pipes are a good option, make sure you get screw cap ends so that you can glue one end shut and drill a padlock hole at the other so you can access and lock it.

I personally lock all our poles inside the vans, that way they are as secure as I can make them and out of sight.

Thanks Trevor,

My van size is the problem, i can't fit my 40 footer inside, at the moment i just use it on the job and take it home again or leave my van near to where i can see it a bit of a pain i know but at least its safe that way, i will have a look in wickes at the soil pipes.

cheers Matt
