How Much.......
« on: April 06, 2007, 10:31:32 am »

How much would you charge to clean the carpets of 860 square foot flat,  30 foot reception, 1 double bedroom one single room and  a long  hall way. All replies are welcome the quote is for a Central London flat I know they charge a bit less in the North of England and counties surrounding London. Your insight would be appreciated Thank you all Please give me your quotes no mater where in the UK you are!

Happy Easter ;D

Dave P, why charge per hour when you can get a lot more per job i.e. I charge £15-£20 per hour finish the job in 3 hours £45-£60 quid, I charge  the same person for the same job, but quote them for the job £250 -£300 which they are happy to pay. why charge per hour? Out of interest how much do you charge per hour? ;)

If it will take you 3 hrs then you are getting £80 per hr?  I dont tell the custy what i want per hr.  I only do residential at the mo and aim for £35-£40 per hr from arriving to leaving.

Is it empty? Can't believe no-one else has asked. This means there is no furniture to move. If so you should be able to do that in 2 hours max (and that includes hand scrubbing all the pre spray in). blimey, even in SW1 £200 should be tops (unless its sisal or something like that).

Even in Northumberland, if my calculations are correct 860 ft equal about 100 yd2 (near enough) you'd be looking at around £200 + vat

thats if you r vat registered!!

i would work out how long i think it would take me to do the job  multiply by my hourly rate then add 1 hour for good measure( they always take longer than you think! ;)

plus any parking charges or in your case congestion charge

goodluck
hope this helps
life is one big learning experience!!!!!!!

are those figures correct, a hallway, double bed and single bed, 86 square metres? where do those sizes work out. even a large bedroom would be 25 sq mtrs

i was'nt refering to the hourly rate, i was estimating the price of the job, for 860 squ-ft i would charge £ 318.20. irrelivent of how long it takes me. my prices are 37p per squ-ft.
