You need to go see it and do a composition test etc.
The possibilities are endless.

Hi Chris

Woven fabric on a velvet loom.

This is (usualy) a top end cut pile carpet of dense fibres giving a luxurious velvet look and some say feel.

The fibre content will almost certainly be 80/20 and is usualy a solid colour. On your inspection look out for shading/pooling and make sure the customer is aware of this before cleaning.

As I say a luxury item not seen so much these days but no problem to clean using HWE or DF, Tex etc ,use  only  Woolsafe approved products ;)

You may notice some colour in the waste tank or on pads but don't be alarmed as this is normal.

Thanks Trevor,
went to have a look and exactly how you descibed. Cream colour, very dense pile, in a house with a swimming pool and a rolls royce outside :D
Are you sure DF Ok? Only asking because customers rubbed a patch (stain) and the piles gone fuzzy ???
Thought I might just pre spray, no agitation and acid rinse, its not really soiled.
what do you think?

Hi Chris

If light soiling only,

Just carry out procedure as you describe using your HWE & woolsafe product such as Solutions no4 , light agitation if needed and fresh water rinse, no need for sour rinse.

It will shed pile which you will find when you re-align the pile after, but this is normal.

I've cleaned these with Texatherm with no problems and the results have been amazing ;) Others might not agree but I did it this way because of the dense pile, if over wet ,drying can take an age.
