Get lease hire.

No depreciation, free servicing, free mot, and you may get free breakdown service and also free part replacement as well...........if you get a good deal anyway. Thats what I get with mine.

Plus, you claim it as a business expense and it is VAT deductable.

The downside is, if you do that, depending upon the engine size and expense of the car you are taxed more on your income. Its not a great deal but I lose £30 a week in the tax.

As a an owner operator, I have reservations about any form of leasing.  If, for some reason, you are off for a long time due to illness, or you loose your license for whatever reason, the vehicle could well be parked on the drive and you are unable to use it. But you may still be obliged to keep up the payments. The same goes for capital equipment.

If, on the other hand, finance is via a loan of whatever type, you could always sell the vehicle to minimise your losses.

It's no good burying your head in the sand because it does happen. It happened to a friend of mine who lost his license so his Jag spent a year on his drive and he had to keep up the lease payments. Fortunately, he had a carpet shop and could walk to work. It became a pain for him though when he had to wait for his carpet fitter to take him to quotations at the end of the day.

So my advice would always be to make sure you have cover or a S.O.P. should the unlikely occur.
