Hi Stuart,
I use a rhino and to be honest i can't fault mine yet, only had it for about 7 months. For the money i payed for mine you would not be able to get the same spec machine at the same price. Very pleased with mine. Got mine directly from vernon purcell from masterclean.

bought a 500 psi machine last year and it's great the pump is absolutly massive! And just bought 10x 135psi machines and must say it a great entry level machine, they come in grey granite like prochem now and don't show the knocks, considering the floor tool is the same as prochem, you have to consider it as a viable machine for business especially as you can have two for the price of nearly anything else.

Pualking, Thats the same machine as mine. Have you actually tested what the max psi is though that comes out the wand. If not measure it mate you might be quite surprised.

lol terry. Well basically when i brought mine which was the 500psi machine, because i was new to carpet cleaning and this was my first hwe it really annoyed me that i didnt know what pressures i was working with. It has an adjuster for your pressure settings but there is nothing to go buy so i got my local pirtek to make me up a psi guage which wasn't as cheap as i hoped and would of made my own if i knew what bits and sizes i needed. Anyway i was dying to find out the max pressure of my machine when i got home and to my amazement it was 200 psi that was coming out of the wand head. I spoke to vernon about this and i think it is to do with the pumps being regulated or something so by not letting the pump work flat out all the time you are prolonging the life of the pump? Now i don't know if that is a load of old bxxxxxxs or what so make of it what you will. But to be honest 200 psi is enough for me and i was happy enough with that, you still couldn't get a machine of that spec for the price i payed for mine. That also goes to show folks that if you had say a 135psi machine that doesn't mean neccessarily that is what is coming out of the wand.

Yeah i would of thought that could also give you inaccurate reading but i might be wrong when i tested mine i put the gauge between the solution line and the attachment (the wand) If for instance i had mounted it further back it might of read higher as you will probably lose some pressure by the time it gets to the wand.

never tried the guage thing myself but will build one and give it a go,  but must say like yourself you can't buy better for the money. the 500 psi pump does seam to put out a very good pressure thought, we were all impressed and in fact someone said "that's nearly as good as a TM for pressure" but do think the 135psi machine gives a better balance between pressure and vac, apprently you can can get a 200psi with the induction motor the size of a house like the 500psi and guess that would be a very good comprimise.

here a couple of picture of the 'Army" as it pat testing day in the workshop today. 6 weeks on and not a break down that will do for me!

Matt - are you saying that you got a 500 psi Rhino from Masterclean and they had set the pump to work at a max of only 200? That's not right surely  I got a 400 psi Ninja from Ashbys, it's got a gauge on the side so you can see you working pressure. When you pull the trigger on the tool it only drops about 50 psi, so it's still working at about 350 psi.

Steve i said the same thing to vernon because i wasn't sure either i took the machine apart and the pump is huge so??? I would of been extremely pxxxxd off if i had payed a higher price but i think 200 psi is enough for me anyway to be honest my machine is mainly a rinsing process after a damn good prevac and aggitation. It has always been something on my mind though about this psi never properly understood it myself. If you look back there is a few posts off mine about this confusion which no one seemed to be able to help me with even spoke with other suppliers who didn't have a clue so god knows?

terry ive had both and id go for ninja,    as for pressure on your machines if u brought it because they told u 500 psi then it should giv u near that not 200 psi  your paying for a big pump and only get 200 psi   what load rubbish    and thers a big diff in perfomace when working with 200 as oposed to 400 !!!    if this is true u could saved u self money and only brought a 200 psi machine, if he says they hav bin set at 200 psi  unscrew the reg numpty and fill it with washers an c if u get 500psi  if not hes sold u a machine with only a 200 psi pump !!!

I did not buy from them,but may consider the 400 psi with more vac power as they claim,the 135 is a very good machine and I have been very pleased with it,
but your not the first to say,if you can go for ninja do it but then I have not
got to many reports on the rhino,only from the psi thing

the ones we got are from the 135psi from restormate if you order 8 you get a discount!  considering we could only buy 3 (and a little one) extracta machines with the same spec (twin vac 135 psi) for the same money it was a bit of a no brainer.

P.s Extracta are only 20 mins from my house and have'nt used them for ages, went in for a sight glass for Chris R, few mondays ago and was greated with "HAVE'NT YOU GONE BUST" aahhh fair warms the cockles of your heart.
Mind you wish i'd sold as many machines as them,there was a nice shiny range rover at the side door ;-)
