hi guys


         presently i only have hwe machines but largely due to this forum i have been looking at rotary machines.  i have been offered an oreck orbiter xl480 which is almost new for £100.  would this machine be suitable for cc purposes?  can i use it alongside hwe or is it just for powder?  any advice will be appreciated

Hi Shaun,
If you dont have either a rotary or an orbiter yet then the rotary should come first IMHO.
A rotary is a much more versatile machine & with the correct brush/pad can be used on almost all carpets, whereas it can be a bit of a wrestling match with my "Aussie made" orbiter on some carpets, cut & loop for instance.

That's the one Ken,

They claim

"Cleans carpets without water. Oscillating action loosens soil deep down in the carpet, allowing it to be vacuumed"

It has a ¹/₃HP motor and 13" cleaning path.

Before i got divorced and before cc i had a panasonic vacumm think it was a E395 or something like that , this vacumm had two motors one for the vacumm and one for the brush could that be used as a agitator when the vacuum is switch off

Totally unsuitable.

Even if you could run the brush without the vacuum, the dampness would cause a short-circuit in the brush motor.

The machine only rotates at about 30rpm or less, it's the random orbital motion that does the work (the same as an orbital sander)
