Back up machine?

Everyone should carry a back up machine of some sort, because you
WILL
get a machine failure at some time and leaving an item half cleaned could cause you a lot of problems!
For many years I have used an Extracta model BX for this purpose
http://www.extracta.co.uk/bx.htm
. It will hold 3 buckets of water( a ninja only holds 4), its got a 3 stage,7.5inch, heavy duty vac and an (adjustable) 100psi pump. Also a built in 3kw water heater. Its light enough to be carried up stairs if needed , so its also handy for those hard to get at jobs.
What do you use?

i used to carry a spare pump & vac motor so no need for a spare machine
I also carry 2 wands and 3 or handtools, never had to walk of a job because of equipment failing

In the early days when I had minimal equipment I spent many a late night out in the garage patching up my ageing Stimvak, so I could work next day.
Now I always carry two Ninjas, three wands and four handtools.
Breakdowns these days are much rarer, but still happen occasionally. At least I can always finish the job !

Don't carry a back up machine but do carry a pair of jump leads.

Most people dont have room for another m/c on the van, so as long as you have one at home I think thats the best solution. OK so you will have to leave the job and go back, but how often will it happen, not very often, and even rarer with a t/m.

No argument but still carry a pair of jump leads, I do need to sort out the problem when I have time!

Len, I carry 2 sets of jump leads, as one wont reach from the van battery to the t/m battery. also carry 2 plastic cans of petrol.

Don’t advertise that, you are only allowed to carry 6lts of petrol in a container, recharging think it’s the earthling, hopefully friend coming over from Spain next week will sort it out, if not he will sleep in the shed.
