Just wondered and thought I`d ask.I have(I think it’s a Belgian Wilton) Hall
Stairs and Landing to do.The treads are really flat thru` foot traffic and the
Customer wants everything moving up so the `tread` will become on the `riser`.
Etc. etc.Is there a tool out there to lift the flattened pile.It is in good condition
Overall.In the past I`ve used rug grooming combs,but a lot was left to be desired.

If it is a Belgian it will be suffering from pile crush. The way they are made is by threading Polyprop fibres through 2 backings. It is then guillotined in half to give 2 carpets. The poly filaments are very fine and bend under foot pressure at the point where they enter the backing. This creates the familiar flat areas on these carpets. There not a lot you can do to rectify it unfortunately. Steam or very hot water would probably be best but you would probably end up with a runner down the middle of the stairs.
