I had a phone call last week asking if I could quote for a builders clean and how high I cleaned . My reply was if I can get to it I will clean it .So I had to meet  him on site , well its the biggest job I have ever had to quote for.

I put together a quote and sent it to him, I worked it out for 2 of us for about 2 weeks .There is lots of internal glass .
He phoned me back and said if I could knock £1k off the price it was mine . But I told him the price I quoted was my best price.You have to take into account the cost of insurance for working at that height , cost of access equipment, traveling time .
Plus the job would be done with no comebacks.I dont think its very professional to quote for a job and then be able to knock off £1k 
It would of been a nice job to have on my cv

IMO you did the right thing in standing your ground.  If you had knocked off £1K, he would have been onto the next cheapest company to trim a few hundred off as well.  You can bet he would have got a handsome bonus for dragging the price down.
