just wondered if anyone know's how to slow my water flow down. its coming out about 2 litre's a min and i want half that. will a flow control valve be the best thing to use

What ever system you use dont use a Valve/Line restrictor otherwise your pump will over heat and eventually cut out.

I have 100m microbore (Gardiners) a 100 psi Flojet pump and use an inline on/off valve to control flow.
It should not damage pump or cause it to burn out, when the pressure in the pump reaches its maximum, the pressure switch cuts in and the pump turns off.

Which of course IS a problem if it keeps happening and causing the pump to cycle
In use the pump chunters on smoothly, or at least mine does!

A Shurflo 60psi wasn't man enough for the job, back pressure was too much and the pump would cut in and out, ergo I had to change to a more powerful pump...

But if you are using standard diametre hose, then you either need to use a bypass or a varistream/ecoflo setup to control your flowrate...
