i bought a leisure battery last week 85ah for £35.00 from a local shop ...

it probably is 35.00 and 15.00 for delivery due to the weight...

any decent camping type shop sells leisure batteries.
I would go for the 110amph rather than 85 amph
think it has a little more juice in it !!

Squeaky - try www.bristolbatteries.com - I don't know if they deliver but they are at the bottom of the M32 as it becomes the A road into the city centre. Not far - but there is the bridge toll.

I got a 75 a/h for £29 in May 2005 and it's still going strong.

I use a standard car battery, 65 ah, £10 from the local car breakers last for.....don't know yet but gives 2 day's work and when no use will just buy another for £10.  10 months so far.

Get one local to you, Rog.  85amp is good, more than enough, but not too much power.  Just go into a caravan store and look dim, the're used to it.  Should cost no more than £45. inc.

 The local agriculture shop selling lawn mowers both sit on and push type sell all the battery kit you would need. I'm sure there will be local one in your area.

I don't know if you are going to use a split charge relay but I suggest you do once you get sorted out.  If you are not using split charge, I suggest that you go for the higher amp rating (110) and pay a bit more and get a decent charger if you haven't already got one.
Of course it might not do your shoulder any good if you need to lift a heavy  battery indoors so split charge would be best.

Squeeks, although I do recommend a 110Ah, an 85Ah will do fine (should give 2 full days work before needing a charge).  I would definitely recommend buying a good brand battery though.  Our batteries are:  110Ah Varta, 130Ah US Battery (shown on the battery megastore site) and a 110Ah Voyager.  All 3 are good batteries, they're all 2.5yrs old and the voyager is now dying, the varta is still good but the US Battery (130Ah) is an absolute workhorse - will easily run 2 pumps all day for 2 days and has only lost about 5% efficiency since new.  Well worth the money and will most likely get another couple of years of hassle free service.
