I have just received a letter from CMS Training which the goverment wants all cleaners to meet the grade NVQ level 2. Each cleaner is paid £100 tax free to attend two 6hr workshops. The assessor visits the cleaner at work so there is no impact on work. Anyone interested in warwickshire area let me know. other clients are Initial,Ecoclean, Minster Cleaning.

yer I got it too, its about time the gov jumped in to raise the standards, the cleaning industry is overpopulated with un-trained staff and has for years been making itself a terrible reputation.   Its good to see that finally something is being done to ensure that a bit of professionalism is bought in to the industry

Hi. My company delivers NVQ Level 2 in the South West (Glos' down to Cornwall). It is under an initiative called 'Train To Gain' and yes, the Government want to raise the number of first time Level 2 qualified workers in the UK, not just cleaning of course.The training and qualification is free although I am a bit hazy on the tax free £100. There are Government incentives to re imburse employers who want their staff trained in work time, but bear in mind the whole ethos of NVQ assessment is that assessment is carried out whilst the worker is actually doing their own job!
