R/o Licence
« on: February 28, 2007, 03:48:48 pm »
How many of you have a licence form the water board for you R/O?

As by law if you have a R/O conected at your house you need a licence.

But if you have your R/O on the van you dont.

I was led to believe the operative word here is "connected", as in permanently connected to the mains.  If your RO is fed by means of an outside tap/garden hose arrangement then technically it's not part of your permanent water supply.

Stop scaring us all Roy :o

Yes that's my understanding gained from the late great Philip Hanson.

Philip was one of the moderators prior to myself, and yep, at one time he was a very regular poster (and a good one too)

So then,

what's all this, "late and great" business

I don't mind the 'great' bit, but I'm still very much alive and kicking!

Ah yes, the days when I used to moderate CiU.  I was a moderator on here for nearly two years, and I used to like to participate a fair bit too!  There was a time when I was the only mod for the window cleaning sections, and it was getting too much for little old me to handle (you rowdy bunch).  I recommended to Mike that Ian Giles come on board to help out, and later I handed over the mantle completely.

Since those days it seems that CiU has become even busier than it ever was, but I still see some familiar names.  I also see that the subjects have become more complex too, just as window cleaning itself has become more of a complex business.

I don't have the time these days to participate as much as I used to, but maybe I'll make more of an effort to pop in now and then.

I'll be at The Cleaning Show, so feel free to come and say hello at the PWC stand.

Hi Philip.
I'm pleased to hear that rumours of your parting have been greatly exagerated  :)
I've always liked your contributions and hope that you find time to participate more.  I was also glad of your presence at the drought order hearings.
A question re PCW mag.  When a subscription is about to expire, do you enclose a reminder as I find it easy to lose track of when it's due?
