Paul

Got a take up of about 25 so far around the country but am waiting on photos and other details before adding to site.

Thanks Woodman

Craig and rabby

You will be competing against the site whether you're part of it or not so surely best to be part of it and gain from it than lose out to it!

1stclean don't really want employees, that is a totally different kettle of fish! Have seen what it is like trying to control staff all under one roof so controlling staff all over the country no thanks!

Is Fairy non bio considered more eco friendly than Daz or do you have to use the magic water on its own?  ;D

There no way Ill be working under any other name than Capital Carpet Care.
Like Craig said, we can look after ourselves.
Better to concentrate on the carpet cleaning IMHO.
No offence intended.

Goron,

Are you going to narrow the areas down or leave them as shown on your map?

Also are you only having one "CARPET KNIGHT" for each area?

What about the "SQUIRES", "FAIR DAMSELS" and of course "JESTERS"

How are you going to market it?

It looks very similar to what Trevor Woodman is doing, we'll probably end up with a situation like the forums, where everyone is setting up their own national network of cleaners.

Maybe that's the way to go, set up a National Carpet Cleaners Association, lets call it the NCCA........Brilliant, I think I may go for that!!!!!!!!!

Hi All

The affiliate program is still undergoing its membership growing exercise And is doing very well in that department but until i can prove nationwide coverage that will be continuing after this i will be starting the marketing.

Well no not really, for instance Scotland and south wales are not covered at all. As you know the allerg stop network has around 55 - 60 members but there are still big gaps on the map!

This has to be right first time there is no point in going for big contracts and them saying well can you cover here? NO can you cover there? NO.

It would instantly lose its credibility!

Just as an update for everybody this is what i am doing

www.carpetknights.net

It is still undergoing construction but if you read what is there then you will get the gist of what i am doing.

I want volenteers to become Carpet Knights Affiliates. It is free but i will cream off a % from each job initially this will be £10 or 10% whichever is greatest and this will be reviewed on a regular basis so we can gauge what the running costs will be!

All enquiries will come through us and we will distribute them out and also all billing will come from us and we will pass on your earnings to you. This is also attractive for large contracts!

The full terms are to be arranged but the main stipulation is that you use eco friendly cleaning solutions!

Must also have proof of insurance and training (if less than 5 years experience) or Ncca membership. I need a photo of yourselves too for the website and locations covered and contact details!

I believe that we have a good brand image and you can also benifit from it.

Cheers Goron

I think you will find that most guys will travel.
If you get a call from an area not covered then just quote a much higher price to cover travel costs  ;)
This way you will/ we will be up an going quicker :)

Hi Paul

Things are coming along well. I suppose so far i have 50% coverage probably rising to about 70% for big jobs where people will be prepared to travel. Have been looking into different ways of promoting it for instance i am working on yellow pages to get listings in all of the directories, all i need is seperate address and telephone numbers for each one so all members may soon be getting telephone numbers allocated to there areas redirected here! also yell.com pay per click, it is a new scheme solely for national companies which puts you at the top of the top for national searches (still thinking about that one).
Am still working on google and live rankings, this is the slow part but the most important part.

Still got large gaps in Scotland, North West England and South East england.

Sounds a reasonable idea, but if the invoicing is done through carpets knights, it wont take long before you have earned enough to become VAT registered, so in theory we will have to charge our customers VAt which will push the price up even more, which could lose us more than what we could gain from it, as we wouldn't be able to compete effectively with non vat registered CC's in the area??

I don't beleive you answered a question earlier, about if a claim was to arise, as the booking and billing is done through carpet knights, if a claim was to arise, surely your insurance company would have to deal with it as all the paperwork would be in the name of carpet knights??

Richard

The idea of the affiliate scheme is to go after the bigger contracts. Larger companies prefer contractors that are VAT registered anyway so no problem there. As for the insurance thing as basically subcontractors you will be liable for insurance yourselves.

SUBCONTRACTOR shall effect and maintain with a first class insurance company,
policies of insurance adequate to cover its liabilities

I may be missing an opportunity here, but why do I have a bad feeling about this?
