Carpet Identification
« on: February 22, 2007, 11:14:14 am »
Got a big job on next week in an old persons nursing accomodation. Approx 15-20 rooms with various carpet types.
Checked most of them when I priced up but one I had not seen before and not sure if it can be wet cleaned?
Felt like material with a hard plastic backing? Ran a white cloth with cleaning solution over it and it seemed to come up fine (cloth was black) but just worried about dumping water on to it. Anyone wet cleaned this type before?

Also 1 room had what looked like urine & feces stains, (burst bag I guess :-\)
What would be the best way to treat these?
(other than at arms length with thick rubber gloves ;D)

As always any help would be appreciated.

With a  plastic backing its probably Flotex. No probs you can HWE it.
If in doubt they have a web site that is very helpful. I used to do a car showroom   and their reception area with it down. We only stopped doing it after they went to ceramic tiles to go with the national look.

I was really gutted, nice little earner.
