Ive had an established window round for 8 years now and have ALWAYS used Fairy.

I was just reading a post http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=19698.0

where it was mentioned about using GG3 or GG4, particularly I believe in hot weather; as smears are more likely. Which I have found cna on occassions be true, especially on patio-doors, due to the time they may take.

I then took a lookie at this site http://www.windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk/wcw/ecommerce/index.php?file=product&idcate=68

where GG3/GG4 is sold.

My question is, is it really worth the price difference compared to Fairy (about twice the price I think, off the top of my head) and does it do what it really says on the tin ??

Forget Fairy Liquid, this gear is the Pro's choice! Makes your squeegee glide across the surface of the glass, reduces effortand leaves the windows sparkling.

Been using GG3 with pure water for about a year and yes it does what it says on the tin bud. It's a bit more that twice the price too and thirdly,in my experience,it can leave glass too clean and they can stay that way for weeks, which can invite customers to ask you to clean bi monthly for obvious reasons.

I have tried GG3 but you dont get any suds, and  I like to see suds so I now use windowcleaningwarhouses own brand.

Found it really difficult, no slip whatsoever! How am I supposed to squeegee when it just gets stuck on the first pass?! No matter how much I put in there, it just didn't glide.

Been using squeegee-off from Ettore now for quite some time, and it's fantastic, cleans so much better then fairy, and has plenty of slip. Windows glimmer in the sun.

I put my GG3 in one of those water squirter thingamajigs and just spray a bit along my applicater. 4 or 5 squirts and i get a pretty good mixture. I looked in B&Q the other day for squeegee off but could nay see it anywhere.....er......help please

Fairy or equivelent will always be best.

Don't waste your money and make your work harder.
The fastest window cleaners in the world use Fairy.

Why would you want to do that?

If people's windows are still clean they'll start messing you about.
And rightly so.
If my window cleaner devised a way that meant they were still clean the next month I'd change him to bi-monthly.

You want them to get noticeably dirty.

I dont know about keeping the windows cleaner longer but it definetly puts a shine to the glass that dish washing liquid doesn't

I'm going to have to try gg4/squeegee off or something like that, I've only ever used washing up liquid.

JM123 if fairy is all you ever used you will need to get used to less suds but its worth it for the results and if you do insides the clean up is minimal,
For a little while before changing start reducing the amount of fairy in your bucket and you will have a feel for it when you start
Or just keep using fairy if it works for you then thats all that really matters in the long run

I totally agree with 'Squeeky' on this subject 100% If you change from fairy now then watch some of your existing customers ask to change their cleaning interval in the future because they are always looking to save costs on their houisehold expenditure too!

I use syr's glimmer clean, about £6 for 5 litres from window cleaning warehouse, definately leaves them sparkling, when im collecting at night  the windows look brill with the lights on, noticeably better than the next doors windows!

Squeegee off with screen wash, you get the shine with slip and very light suds and is tons cheaper than the GG3/4's tried them and was not impressed at all.

p.s window cleaning warehouse sells squeegee off at £15 for 5 ltrs and free post at the moment.

GG3/4 definatley does not do what it says on the tin! unless you use 5 to 6 times the reccomended dose (at least) other than that there's no slip at all (which is ok if you only pull your squeegee in straight lines i.e. top to bottom)
its so thin it will leave lines behind the minutest imperfection in either rubber or glass. IMO you need to add something like ecover or fairy to get the slip.

i've been useing gg4 with hard tap water,
at first i could'nt get on with it but  after persevering with it for two months now i think its the best window cleaning invention after wfp.
just use it excactly as it says on the tin, don't be tempted to put extra in.....5ml per 1gallon..............

but like i said you've got to give yourself time to get used to working with it.

this is very true so i have been changing my rubbers much more often but still love the finish and working with gg4

tried it, liked it at first, good slip but then i noticed it leaving a white film on the glass. this was worse on some glass than others, also i found as soon as the water in the bucket got even the slightest bit dirty it was even worse. tried new rubbers/different dilutions the lot but still no good.
