What goes around....
« on: February 16, 2007, 12:04:35 pm »
Local wc who caused a lot of problems (like telling my customers I had a criminal record and setting fire to another wc'ers van) fell and broke his back recently (I only found out today).  I can't say I feel sorry for him, maybe thats a bit harsh but he's a nasty piece of work.  He's not paralysed though so I suppose that makes me feel a bit better.

On a more positive note - another lad who I built a system for rang me today with a couple of blocks of apartments for me to do.  nice one.

the best advice you could have given the nasty window cleaner to show there was no hard feelings was that he should have got a wfp ;)

good luck on the flats

In some ways I don't feel any hard feelings to him, on the other hand I do.  One of the local shiners spoke to his brother recently and they reckon it'll be a year at least before he's working again.

I don't know what to make of it - he's caused a lot of trouble, cost me a lot of money and has done the same (and a lot worse) to other wc'ers, to top it off he's claiming benefits too (I know this through a customer who works at the social services office).

Like you say what goes round comes round this chap seems like a real trouble causer you dont need problems like this from a joker when you are trying to do your work

Hope his ladder wasnt hurt :-X

Anyone who works and claims benefits is a cheat and a criminal and deserves to be shopped ....Personally I would shop him to the 'dole' office, taxman and anyone else I could.

Our profession is not best served by those cheating the system, nobody wins.

Those who do things the right way always seem to come up against far more hurdles/problems than those who want a freeride.

Shop him the moment he starts up again.

Dave.

Not having a go Jim but I thought you had licensing up there.
Clearly this isn't working either.
As for the person who did all this to you, he's got what he deserved for bad mouthing you.

another example of "what goes around" years ago when I was much less confident, i got a phone from a customer one saturday, saying I had scratched his window, I was very suprised and quite stressed, I promised to call round the next morning (sunday), when I arrived the customer showed me a small scratch, in the shape of a "nike tick", I explain to him that I couldnt have done it, as on those windows I simply squeegeed straight down, he was having none of it, so anyway I told him I would try to remove it (impossible) I tried for 45 minutes, on the following monday I phoned a local window company asking them how I could remove the scratch, they told me it would be unlikely to be able to remove it and they confirmed to me, that I was unlikely to be the cause of it, anyway next time I called to do the windows suprise suprise, the guy had new windows on all of the house except the one he claimed I scratched, it looked very much like he wanted me to buy the windows for that one, anyway we went our seperate ways! but today I was working next door, his wife came out and asked me if I could fit them into my round, I politely replied "I dont think so" she then said "Im only next door", I replied "I know I used to clean your windows" she said "I dont think you did", I said "scratched window!" she replied "oh yeah!" she then said "can you do them then?" I said "no sorry".

so they tried to pull a fast one on me, but over 3 years later, no window cleaners will touch them, justice I think

oh yeah as for the scratched window, I spoke to the previous owner to that house recently, and she told me the windows are around 100 years old and they had been scratched for years,

Romans 12 v 17-21

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"says the Lord. On the contrary:
"If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Not at all, dear heart!
Many years ago I worked for a car-hire company, and one day I was in a motor with one of the mechanics.  At a junction he thought he wasn't treated fairly by another road-user. So he makes a detour, eventually gets right behind him, sees a gap in the oncoming traffic, pulls out and cuts the guy in, punches the air and shouts "Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord!" Always wondered where it came from! Yours is maybe the New English version?

I saw Cape Fear and knew where Robert de Niro got his inspiration :o)
