Extending pole life
«

Hi, I asked this ages back on a previous post,
does anybody know how to extend the life of their pole.
It was suggested about using a fibre glass type varnish, any ideas! or has anyone tried this?
I've got a few old poles lying around keep on slipping, just wanted to know if it works or just replace the clamps.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

I've not had to yet but hear that varnish idea works, also a preventative idea is polish like pledge. As for clamps a guy I used to work for would extend their life by sawing a slither of plastic from them so you could tighten the thread further before having to replace them, anyone else tried this?

I find that cutting off the top 2"from the worn pole section and replacing the clamp for a new one does the trick 100 % it shortens your pole by a few inhces but that gotta be better than dumping the pole
I have done this twice now ... it certainly gives new life to an old pole

Think gardiners, cleantech, brodex to name a few do them trouble is they start at £7 upwards.
Not too expensive but if a few have gone can get pricey.
Might try that option
