Help! - Floor problem

Hi lads,

I did something stupid this evening. I'll try keep this short.. I was cleaning carpets in a hotel with rotary machine (with Fibre Shampoo) and when I finished I took the brush off and put the machine on nearby wooden flooring as I didnt want it to leave a ring on the carpet (thinking it wouldnt leave a ring on the floor, for some reason  :-[ ) When i went back a few mins later and lifted the machine it had left white ring mark which had dried in. So, (firstly I'll say I dont clean floors as part of my business, yet.. ;D) first thing I did was rub it with a towel & hot water, thinking it would dissolve the shampoo. which it did & I suceeded in removing the ring but it left a white stain/mark all around it. So now I have a white patch with a brown ring inside it  ::)
I got a knife and gently scraped part of it and it did peel, it's like a film of wax. I didnt have any suitable scraper big enough to hand to scrape it all so I decided to leave it until tomorrow. What would be the best quick fix? (Without the right floor pads/strippers). The entire floor isnt in a good condition and they are planning on demolishing & rebuilding the hotel soon so as long as I can get rid of the white & it looks reasonably ok they will be happy. Should I just scrape it off best i can? The hot water just made it spread worse...Wire sponge/brush? It is wood floor but not sure what type; its dark coloured, not in long planks..not any shape really  ??? , but its down years & years. Sorry for rambling on!   :-\

if it hasnt disapeared you will need some floor polish stripper put some on stain and rub lightly not to much or the area done may come cleaner than rest of floor , following this rinse area with water and dry then finally apply a coat of floor polish.
 if after this your area cleaned looks different than rest of floor then i am sorry but all floor will need stripping and polishing .

Yes, sure enough, it disappeared!  :o I have to say I was sceptical premier floorcare when i saw your message this morning so couldnt believe it was gone, pleasant surprise! How does that happen? And of course the manager was wondering what on earth i was talking about because I phoned him last night to let him know as it was outside his office and didnt want him seeing it this morning wondering what it was... ;D

the area that had gone white was  floor polish which had absorbed water and chemical of your scrubbing machine this had started to lift the floor polish but once dried out it went back to being hard and clear. when you buy floor polish it is a milk colour but once dry it goes clear
