it is roughly the same price but you will need the pressure turned down on pressure washer so as not to damage wood, we find a hot water pressure washer set at about 1000psi works best
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

You do not use HOT water on wood no way.
Priceing yes by the square meter, low pressure. I only chemically wash deck/wood, as it is the only way to go.

Hot water rasies the grain, the wood will also expand with hot water, out of interest what temp are you using?
Are you just doing ridged decks usually PT wood.

we are using water at a temperature of around 50 degrees on wood but as i stated the pressure is turned down to about 1000psi ,we did some decking that was riddled in chewing gum and turned the heat upto steam or 150degrees on dial but again turned the pressure down to about 500 psi this worked fine and didnt damage the wood at all where as cold water at high psi would of ripped the wood to pieces , but i do agree when cleaning wood care does have to be taken even cold water at an high psi can cause problems but once again i find hot used at low psi is safest.

Hi Trevor, 50 degrees is not so hot, you could go even lower with the psi, but if it works for you then well done.
I chemically wash all decks/wood that I work on, prefer to let the chemical do the work as opposed to psi from the machine, have a look at my web-site if you get a chance, all wood on there is done with cold water low psi and a chemical wash.
Agree you care is needed when working with wood or you'll end up with match-sticks.
Cheers Roger
