sorry mate but those two words dont mix in that context. a cheap 35 to 40ft pole is just that - cheap. you'll regret every penny of it. a 40ft fibreglass pole is virtually un-workable.
i personally recommend a carbon facelift. have a look on www.gardinerpolesystems.something. they have modular carbon poles that are cheaper if modular would suit you.

that seems very reasonable, a great price too, i never thought those brodex poles were that cheap!!

I see you highly rate the facelift pole macmac, you had it long?

i do rate it jm but like i've said before its the only carbon pole i've had, the de-mounting bit is a big bonus to me as i use it at 24ft 90% of the time & add other sections as & when i need them.(44ft in total). this saves me buying & carrying multipul poles but to be honest at the price you stated for the brodex (& i trust your oppinion on them) i may think twice next time.
had the pole about 4 months ( i think).

well I managed to convince GazH2O into buying one (a 25ft Ecolite carbon) and he's been raving about it ever since, can't say I blame him - out of all the poles I have supplied and repaired over the past few years nothing comes close, nothing.

You still got the facelift brush on it?

yes, at the mo' just waiting on a gaz-swivel coming in the post. i will seriously consider a brodex later in the year when i may buy a 25 ish footer. are they as light & rigid as the facelift??

a little bit heavier than the facelift - 25ft carbon is 2.3kg, but has duralok clamps, alloy basecap, rigidity has to be seen to be believed.

Yep,i sure do,if you ain`t got one of these poles and you are are ready to buy a new pole then look no further,they are the best pole on the market,

I just bought a fishing pole and it makes a 27 foot pole after losing the thin bits. It set me back 150 including holster etc. It ways less than 1kg. You can add sections to  like fifty feet.

Today was my first day so I was just getting the hang of it then it started raining. Its modular and was only going to use it on 3 storey but its sooo light I used it on all my normal domestics. I got the hang of putting it together etc quickly and smoothely. I did a window above a conservatory and no flex at all. Its really, really rigid. I spent about an hour modifying it. When you hold it its so much lighter than my small 8ft glass fibre. After using it then picking up the 18ft universal the difference is enormous. I'm never going to touch the 30fter again.

I made a sleeve for the end section so where the gooseneck is its double thickness. I thought it would be a severe pain taking it to pieces and it was at first, but already I've got the knack. It was only 150 because I got it from my local tackle shop, the're cheaper on the internet! All the section are cheaply replacable and I would reckomend it. Thanks to Gazh20 for advice on the pole and jeff brimble for advice on really light brushes ( which seem to be better than others and loads lighter!). Cheers guys

John,they are excellent poles real professional build quality,i can`t really comment to what they can withstand as i take real care with all my equipment,so i don`t go chucking them about,
Paul,the difference is the goosneck,the trident is a fixed metal neck and the commercial is a plasic adjustable neck,
