Moaning customers

It's that time of the year where the weather is cold and the water takes time to dry on the windows, why do customers moan about this  ??? ???

Had one canceled because does not like the water staying too long time on the windows, was not long ago she was praising wfp ???

I was in a good mood today, that's it I'm off to the pub to drown me sorrows :(

Isn't it exactly the same as when it rains, you should tell them, and let them chew on their own words!  ;D ;D

sometimes feel like telling them exactly what i think but you have to bite your tongue

example... could you not do my windows in the rain!!

my answer...if i clean when its not raining then 10 minutes later it starts then whats the difference!!!

I know you cannot please anyone, but is it not weird as soon as you lose one you gain more around the corner. Just been to pub and got customers coming up to me and gained £50 extra work.

I did nothing but sit on the stool ;D ;D

Doug maybe she has just had her credit card bill in from xmas.

Maybe she is happy with WFP but you just came at the wrong time when she is a bit skint.

Customers hardly ever tell you the real reason and make up an excuse.

I expect this is one of them.

I wouldn't worry plenty more customers about.

That's right.  It seems to be a permanent balancing act.  I started getting a little down in early January as I lost two long time customers.  Both were a bit underpriced anyway as can happen with such customers.  A week later I pick up two jobs at my new pricing structure.  Sorted.
In yesterdays post I got a cheque and a letter from another loing time customer who wanted to cancel.  I had been expecting this at some point as I knew shwe was moving.  In the same post I got a letter from someone I quoted for a while back asking me to start cleaning on my next time around.
Also, today I did two new quotes and got them both.
So I've had a week off from the physical graft (ran out of work because of the speed of WFP) and still pick up new work.
My visit to a local industrial estate poved fruitless but I've sown some seeds so there may yet be something come of it.

Yep had a customer recently phone and say that the windows were very wet?...really?..go figure!

During the recent storms I had a customer after being told we would not be able to clean her house that day refuse to allow us to re-schedual....and just said skip, bear in mind this lady is a right Mr's Bucket...and is always pushing to have this and that done for free and is just a pain...so yesterday I get to her house and the back gate is shut...so I think well I'll do the front and bill her...am nearly finished when she turns up and says...I have come home to see how you do it...she then makes some stupid comment about " this is much better weather for cleaning my windows" and just smirks....I then in my best Dutch tell her that if I ever attend as agreed and the access is not available or she sends me away or refusese a 1 day re-sched she is will have to find someone else...I know she dumped her previous w/c to take us on...we told her that we would not provide a quote unless she had finished with her previous...

The look on her face was a picture....I would rather not have to be so curt but she really is a royal pain in the arse....

why do we all do these pain in the arses we have just started getting rid of these inconsiderate butt pains it really makes you feel good  ;D and if like magic a new good customer with a higher price comes along this is what we  really like about my job .
  Its good to be able to pick and chose sometimes you win sometimes you lose BUT NEVER take back a butt pain customer for any amount of money life is to short to be miserable I know 8) 8) 8)

We get it every day, I'm sure the customers think I've never heard it before.


Her " didn't think you'd be round in this weather".
Me " The prices I'm charging, I have to work every day to make a living. I should put my prices up 25% and have 3 months off every winter".

Her, "Is there a month gone already"?
Me, " that's what I said this morning when I saw my direct debits had gone out".

Her, "I'll have to do the insides now you'v been".
Me, " we do the insides too for 50% extra".

Her, " can you call back later, I havn't any change.
Me, " I can change anything up to a fifty, or I can take a cheque.


If they'r skint why can't they just say "I havn't any money".

Her, " can you leave it this time"?
Me , " are you sure you want them done next time? I have so much work on I am struggling to cope.
I can only talk like this because I do have too much of the wrong work with many underpriced customers.

Chris, I do have loads of under priced work. I tend to blame my customers for this when of course the fault is all mine.
It doesn't help when you come on here, and read what other guys are making.#
And I am struggling to make a hundred  a day.
I'm getting older, slowing down, and can't be assed getting out there to find better paid work. Dai

sqeaky...you know there is nothing wrong with that approach to business at all...if the customers were not prepared to pay, they wouldn`t.

I am sometimes surprised what people are prepared to pay though !!

Or "wind up" divorce proceedings so much you lose thousands and the custody of your kids!  ;D

I wouldnt take much notice of what gets said on here. I dont want to get into any arguments or upset anyone but i think alot dream about their earnings. I think some do earn what they say. I have well priced work & the majority is well compact together, i think there is a lot of bigging it up to look good, so what, i only care what i'm earning so take no notice.

I agree with Macc - we sometimes post our best days/weeks earnings - not the ones where we've looked after a sick child, gone to the bank, changed a tap washer or couldn't be bothered to get going 'til 10 am and home for tea at 3.30pm!
