I came across these comments posted on the web by a carpet cleaner.
In an age where we are continually reminded of how conmen with morals lower than low take advantage of the vulnerable homeowner, this was a shock to find.
I thought with the high set up costs of carpet cleaning, it would deter the crooks and scum and attract professional minded people...apparently not so!
What would you have done in a similar situation?
I would have said immediately:
"no, that`s £100 for the whole job...i`ll be back next week to do the other 2 rooms and you can pay me then."
This low life has taken £100 for 40 mins work and has gone back a week later and stung them for another £100
He then gloats about spending the cash on his kids and how glad he was that he ripped off the customer earlier

and he only took 40 mins to carpet clean 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a landing!! surely this is cowboy land with those times!?
Have a read:
"...then xxxxx and I went to grenoside to do a carpet job, it was a lovely house , the guy was all tweed jacket and plummy voice, cleaned 2 bedrooms, bathroom and landing, he said he wanted the 2 lounges cleaning next week and asked me how much he owed me I SAID £100, he said ok , ill pay you the other hundred for downstairs next week! lol .... a fool and his money are easily parted...so I TOOK THE £100 for 40 mins work cleaning the upstairs. I gave xxxx 20 quid to get credit when i left her this morning , as well as 60 to get some clothes, she had spent the lot by the time i met her so i paid out another 20 on credit, then xxxxx was whinging as he dont like sharing a phone with xxxx, so i ended up buying a new one for xxxx, good job i had ripped that customer off earlier!..."
I wont name and shame as that is not my style.
